Anna Bikont and Jacek Dukaj at the Le Livre sur les Quais Festival

The sixteenth Le Livre sur les Quais Festival took place in Morges from September 5th to 7th. This literary celebration on Lake Geneva was full of meetings, discussions, workshops, and readings with the public. The theme of this edition of the Swiss event was the five senses.

Mikołaj Grynberg’s “Confidential” in English and other translations

Numerous translations have recently been published abroad with the support of the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme. Of particular note is the translation of Mikołaj Grynberg's prose work, Confidential, which Sean Gasper Bye has brought to English-speaking readers.

Zyta Rudzka in Spanish and other translations

Several significant translations have recently been published abroad, supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme. Of particular note is the translation of Zyta Rudzka's novel, “Ten się śmieje, kto ma zęby” (He Who Smiles, Who Has Teeth), which won the Nike Literary Award. Bárbara Gill, the renowned translator of Stanisław Lem, has brought it to Spanish-speaking readers.

Honek, Figura, and Dąbrowski at the International Literature Festival Graal-Müritz

This Friday, August 29th, the International Literature Festival Graal-Müritz will begin. Three Polish authors will participate in the event: Urszula Honek, Michał Figura, and Tadeusz Dąbrowski. The Book Institute is an official partner of the festival.

Small Book – Great Man

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

CZYTAJ PL

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
